Hey - i am 26 years old and i live in the Uk. I discovered Konad around October 2010 , and my bank balance has yet to recover. i have since collected a very large collection of fauxnads and Konads. the goal for this blog is simple - (1) Further explore the world of nail art stamping. (2) To keep a record of all my experiments with stamping. (3) To show you the potential each stamp has. (4) To show you that you don't have to be a 'Konading' expert to have fun! =)

Google News

Hey Guys!

The lovely Sarah From Samariums-Swatches - Has shared the following Link with
me tonight.  I think it is defiantly interesting to read as it will affect
some Non Google  bloggers

Google have announced - See source Here

Google Friend Connect—Friend Connect allows webmasters to add social features to their sites by embedding a few snippets of code. We’re retiring the service for all non-Blogger sites on March 1, 2012. We encourage affected sites to create a Google+ page and place a Google+ badge on their site so they can bring their community of followers to Google+ and use new features like Circles and Hangouts to keep in touch.
With Google retiring Friend Connect, this allows Blogger to take over its functionality.
Blogger blog owners, who like the idea of letting their Followers display their icons on the faces of our blogs, and view our blog updates in the Blogger Reading List / Google Reader displays, can continue to use the Followers accessory.

By removing Google Friend Connect from the Followers accessory, Blogger is hoping that the code supporting the Followers gadget can be simplified, and will become more stable.

You have approximately 4 months to use this
information - Don't say you wasn't warned

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Looks to me as if Google is desperate to get people into the Gooogle+ wasteland any way they can. By force, if necessary.

I am on Google+. And rarely, if ever have anything to do with it. It is difficult and not user friendly and I just don't get it. Or much like it.

I think that this is a bad move and it is going to bite Goolgle and Blogger in the butts.

  4. this doesnt affect blogger. it is removing it from NON-blogger sites. meaning if you have a blog on wordpress or weblog or your own domain and you use GFC on it, you will no longer be able to use it.
our blogs, on blogger, are safe!

  5. Why on earth would they do this?! What are we supposed to do now? Relocate our blogs?!

  6. ahh this sucks! since I don't have blogger I have to start from scratch on the rss feed, which I don't think I can see the number of people so that sucks!

  7. **** Google. GFC is user friendly, which is really helpful when you're beginning. I don't still fully understand what this is going to imply, making it more difficult to follow blogs or redo our entire blogs, wasting lots of time and hard work in the process.

  8. I wonder if we started a petition if they would change their minds about this? It really shouldn't be some who keep this and some who will lose all their hard work!

  9. Thanks for the info! I hadn't seen this before and will have to ponder what it means. I am sure that even though I have a Blogger blog, my followers will get hosed up somehow (they seem to disappear and re-appear periodically as it is now). I do already have a Google+ page for my blog, so I guess that's good...
