Here is some things I've learnt on my journey on stamping =D
*Work in progress*
...A video Tutorial is incoming
Make sure you have everything to hand before you start :
- A Image Plate
- Your stamper
- A scraper (Metal, Plastic a old plastic card)
- A base coat.
- Nail polish
- A Top Coat <<< Very Important!
- Polish remover
- Stamping polish - or an opaque polish.
- cotton bud (q-tip)
- Cotton Pads
- paper towels (kitchen roll).
..............If this is your first time Stamping...then also grab
- A medium Nail file ( roughen up your stamper before you begin).
- And a good mood (With lots of patience)
Apply a base coat to your nails - then paint your nails.
Make sure your colour is dry
Use a top coat over your base polish. When you make a mistake, you can
simply give the nail a quick swipe with polish remover on cotton pad,
and the base polish will be fine as only the top coat will be removed.
- Don't worry about the dull appearance once a top coat is added - It
will look fantastic again.
When I first started stamping, I used a Konad Metal scraper. I hated how it
scratched the plates. Therefore I no longer use a Konad metal scraper .
Instead I personally use Old plastic cards. I actually use an old debit card.
I cut them in half or even quarters (this means I have spare scrapers to use).
Keep them clean between stamping so you get a good clean
swipe each time. If you do not clean with each swipe , you will find that
polish gets loaded up causing problems.
Remember speed is essential - The paint on the stamper will
be very thin ( Meaning it will dry very quickly). Lining up images perfectly
will come with time and experience.
